The Charitable Givings Committee brings you an opportunity to celebrate Earth Day by volunteering with your family. WMF volunteers (children and spouses welcome!) will join the Wellesley Natural Resources Commission (NRC) during the Charles River Cleanup, sponsored by the Charles River Watershed Association.

The event brings together more than 3,000 local volunteers each year to pick up litter and assist with park maintenance, and builds on a national effort as part of American Rivers' National River Cleanup®, which to date, has removed over 32 million pounds of trash from America's waterways.

The WMF team will be given a designated area and clean up task that is child friendly.  All of the necessary tools and bags will be provided.  Bringing your own gloves is encouraged, but if not possible, all necessary supplies will be provided at the event. Closed toed shoes, long pants and long sleeved shirts are strongly encouraged.

Feel free to volunteer for the entire event, or participate for whatever amount of time you are able.

    Thank you for your support!

    About the owner Lauren:

I have been a licensed middle school science teacher for over 18 years in Massachusetts, New York and Florida. With a Masters Degree in Education, I have developed and executed my own hands-on interactive lesson plans throughout my entire career. My success in the classroom is based on a love for teaching and a passion for bringing both excitement and inspiration to the world of science. This enthusiasm has led me to develop a space where my experiments come alive and where children’s creativity truly thrives.

After seeing the joy and wonder that I was able to capture in the classroom, I wanted to share this love of learning with all children of any age. Science Lab Parties allow kids to feel like real scientists, equipped with lab coats and goggles, as they explore the magic of chemistry and physics. Not only do the children become inspired as innovators, they also benefit from real science teachers that help to explain the how and why behind everything that they do.

I have developed STEAM, educational science-themed parties that uniquely cater to every child and make their birthday an explosive, once in a lifetime memory!
